Just Us Peeps

My blog project for today is a card. For the background I found an old cake stencil I had lying around. I applied some texture paste to the cardstock.  Sometimes when you just stop to look around, it always amazes me what one finds to use with your scrapbooking. Dad ~ You're one in a melon

Hello and happy Wednesday.  Today my project for the blog is a page layout of my Dad.  I love this picture of him.  Since retirement and moving away from the city his veggie patch is his pride and joy.  This is his first ever home grown watermelon. The LSHD file  One in a Melon This file from LSHD was perfect for this page.  This is also a Christmas tradition in our family.   Dad chooses a watermelon for Christmas day.  The watermelon lies in our swimming pool on the day while we celebrate.  We have a “cold” Christmas lunch. After lunch those that feel like a swim jump in the pool, the watermelon comes out and Dad cuts it up for the family. Thanks for stopping by Michelle

Chipboard Bubble Technique

Happy Monday.  Today I am doing a bit of a different post.  Today will be a card including a technique.   I chose to do bubble paint on chipboard. You will need 1.  Some chipboard cut outs.  I used an old cereal box and cut my pieces with my cutter.  I did double cut just to be sure it cut through nicely.  I used the gears from the file  Silhouette Elements  2. Paintbrush 3.  Acrylic paint 4. Perfect Pearls (optional) 5.  Some glaze (optional) 6. Heat gun  Start painting your pieces. Once covered completely in paint, used your heat gun to start drying the paint.  You will notice the paint starts to bubble.  That is the effect we want.  Continue to do about 3 layers of paint and drying. End result. Here is the card! I went on to add some perfect pearls and dimensional glaze to my chipboard.  I just dry brushed the perfect pearls on.  For the title...
